PDC Bit and Tricone Bit are both popular drill bits in the water well drilling and oil exploration. PDC bit (Polycrystalline diamond compact bit) is designed as 2 types drill bit, one is Steel Body Pdc Bit and the other one is Matrix Body PDC Bit. Matrix body PDC bit is manufactured by mold process. The tungsten carbide and binder materials are arranged into the mold. The mold get placed in to the furnace for certain period of the time and materials are cooked to certain temperature. The mold later cooled down and broken to remove the unfinished matrix bit, while the steel body PDC bit is manufactured by machining the steel bars per design. PDC bit is mainly use for soft formation and medium hard formation. Tricone bit is a very important drilling tools in water well drilling and oil exploration. It is adaptable to wide formations and high mechanical drilling speed, tricone bit is devided into 2 types based on the teeth, one is steel body tricone bit, the other one is tungsten carbide insert tricone bit. TCI Tricone Bit is mainly use for hard formation drilling while steel teeth or milled teeth tricone bit is use for soft and medium formation drilling. PDC bit has fast drilling speed in soft formation but it can not drill very hard formation, TCI tricone bit can drill very hard formation but drilling speed is slow. Choosing a correct drill bit can improve your drilling efficency and reducing your cost. If you are interested in tricone bit or PDC bit, please feel free to contact us.
