2. Is the formation homogenous or interbedded? Alternating hard and soft layers favor a 4-blade or higher design for stability.
3. What is the expected drilling depth? Deep holes put more wear on the bit body and cutters. Matrix body may be worth the investment for long runs.
4. What is your target ROP? If speed is the priority, fewer blades and larger cutters deliver faster penetration.
5. What thread connection does your drill string use? API regular, API IF, and various metric threads must match your existing equipment.
